Can you imagine if the entirety of Northrop Grumman's contract award for the Apollo Lunar Module instead went to their lead designer personally building a giant printing press dedicated to churning out child pornography? This is essentially where we are. #spcx

It is a national embarrassment that there are exactly zero mentions of the Human Landing System in SpaceX's earnings call today. Every dollar of public investment has gone to making sure Starlink meets earnings expectations and that the world's saddest trillionaire can keep on being sad.

Still-framing a movie to catch all the details then coding an effect to match is a level of obsessed that feels very familiar to me :) Also, @kari.bsky.social wrote her own code and didn't cheat with "AI", which is way too common in the retro scene nowadays. Well done!!

youtu.be/yDItCLecx3k Breaking the movie down frame by frame I think I got most of the program worked out. But would love to compare with the original prop, if still around, so if anyone knows which studio made it, I would love to know (maybe @asavage.bsky.social you can help :) @tested.com

The first demo image of the new AI-enabled Siri (I'm calling it Sloppy Siri) on Apple's site is so profoundly stupid. The "summary" erases the fact that they're asking a question in the first sentence. Then it pretty much copies the second sentence. WHAT. IS. THIS. GOOD. FOR. #apple #siri #fuckai

A screenshot of the new AI-enabled Siri chatbot, summarizing a text. The content of the text, from someone named Aga, is "Have you heard of Calathea? It's a patterned tropical houseplant..." Above the text is the summary "Aga sent you a message about Calathea. She described it as a patterned tropical houseplant."

So Artemis III will see a docking with a nonfunctional hulk shaped like Starship HLS, and a non-representative Blue Moon mk.1.5 with different propulsion that will be launched on some booster at some point. 😬 Honestly I'm hoping it gets delayed until oblivion. arstechnica.com/space/2026/0...

We managed to glean some interesting details about the Artemis III mission

I was on the phone with Blue Origin leadership that night, all the next day, all through the weekend."
