I built a replica of the Lonely Mountain in Minecraft for a book report on the Hobbit in grade 8. At the time I felt bad about not being able to do the scale right, but seeing this illustration from Tolkien himself corrects those feelings. It wasn't perfect, but it looked quite similar to this

"Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away ere break of day To seek the pale enchanted gold." "The Hobbit" was first published #otd 1937 🎨 J.R.R. Tolkien

BREAKING! "Saddle Lake Cree Nation is asserting its Treaty rights and jurisdiction to provide safe refuge for those seeking and providing gender-affirming care. Any Albertan will be able to access gender-affirming care on Saddle Lake Cree Nation reserved lands and territories"

So, for the non video game nerds: the top 3 hardest things to do in video games is 1. animate changing clothing 2. handing one item to another char 3. Lying under covers in bed. So from a technical perspective, this weird ass Strip Mahjong game is like writing Beethoven's 9th, but for gooning.

famitsu posted a video of what the stripping looks like in the new strip mahjong game and oh my god they're actually doing the fucking undressing without cuts

Think I might have to assemble a list of Bevy crates and build a quick start template for 3D games. Too tempting to try to build everything myself, only to find a crate that does exactly what I need.

genuinely wondering if there's any writing out there about the way that going from sub-10 employees to sub-20 constitutes an invisible and substantial danger for many indies as the studio goes from "everyone knows what they are doing" to "fairly substantial organizational overhead becomes necessary"
