A small disgusting detail here is one of the mix of headlines tossed on the screen as evidence of e-bike danger is about a bike rider being killed by a driver. Another is the photo of cop cars parked on the sidewalk being used as a generic illustration of "responsible agencies". Nasty work.

i don't believe anyone has "good-faith" concerns about trans women in sports in 2026. there's been too much time to hear the actual evidence, the actual people affected, and the role the debate plays in attempts to purge trans people from American life. anybody picking that side has made a choice

Feels a little weird to connect “a driver killed this boy” to “and we have to make the bikes the boy was riding illegal” when there doesn’t seem to be any evidence the place or manner it was being ridden contributed to the crash.

Subway announcement pollution isn't just noise pollution. Using "alert" space for generic and benign messages like this just means riders will stop paying attention to alerts.

why would New York mandate this before implementing IDs in Apple/Google Wallet? both of those would have allowed a user to verify their age with an app without exposing any personally identifiable information. the end goal instead becomes plainly obvious: the end of privacy on the web.

For the first time I've seen, they had conductors checking tickets before boarding Metro-North at Grand Central. This is, to put it mildly, an incredibly wasteful practice. You have many conductors doing nothing but checking tickets and causing a long backup onto the Main Concourse.

It's nice but the fact that we're still talking about it in the future and the number is so low is disappointing. Do one every couple blocks, starting installation today!
