July is Disability Pride Month, and as part of our coverage we’re resurfacing @angryblacklady.blacksky.app’s podcast episode with disability justice advocate @vilissathompson.bsky.social about why disabled victims are so often erased from true crime and how ableism shapes whose stories get told.

Deeply displeased with the universe. I only got to meet Emi a few years ago at a mutual friend’s memorial – I really enjoyed meeting up with her, indulging Kitti’s requests for cuddles, and hearing her talk about Aileen’s. But cancer strikes again. To carry on her work: gofundme.com/f/support-ai...

PDX: the COVID + Health Resource Library (CHRL or “choral”) is popping up again at APANO’s Open Studios on Friday 6/26! It’s a mask-required drop-in style BIPOC art space to “experiment, play, explore creativity, and cultivate connections.”

Flyer about our next popup: “COVID + Health Resource Library, Friday 6/26, 4-8pm.”

“For disabled BIPOC to come & get
- free masks (strapless Readimask, duckbill Vflex and ACI N95, SIP airtight valve)
- free Metrix borrowing (lab-quality molecular COVID tests); check out period: 1 month”

On the bottom right, the text reads:
“APANO Open Studios
Masks required, drop-in style
8188 SE Division St”

Illustrations of a Metrix test, a mask with a SIP valve installed, and a Readimask fill the bottom left.

[ taps the sign exhaustedly ] I’ve spent the last 2 months scrambling to keep Affect going and we could use a bit of funding help while we have access to all of…$4943 in our bank right now. We haven’t fundraised much before, but now we’re officially our own 501c3 & would love any / all support!

Affect has been going through it in the last couple months, as we’ve had to suddenly transition out of fiscal sponsorship and emergency incorporate to continue existing. But! We’re now officially our own 501c3 and fundraising. affecttheverb.com/donate
