The reason we HAVE to keep burning Fossil Fuel is because the richest own it, and it is 'worth' $200tn. If we just stop burning it, that becomes $0. But WE don't have to keep burning it.

After the mid-terms in USA, the world will have to digest the next phase of Trump’s project to destroy USA as a democracy. Jan 6 did not work, but this time he will successfully overturn any result against him. US Americans will just shrug How will Europe react? Not at all.

Brilliant letter from Stuart Thompson to Jeremy Clarkson about his comments that benefit claimants should write weekly thank you letters to tax payers detailing how they spend their benefits each week.

A few weeks ago John Healey resigned from Starmer's cabinet because he was unhappy with defence spending. He's now Chancellor in Burnham's cabinet, begs the question why his first policy announcement hasn't been to increase defence spending. Maybe his resignation wasn't about spending, who knew.

We should never forget how the BBC has changed this country by giving endless airtime to Nigel Farage and other rightwing extremists, while shutting out progressive voices.

And why is #r4today giving (yet again) such prominence to a hair-brained scheme that has little chance to ever be implemented? A GE is unlikely soon and the threat of Reform winning it is apparently receding. What is the justification for legitimising it?

US Americans voted as President, a man (Trump) who advised the country to drink bleach to protect against Covid AND still some 40% continue to support him AND dispute all the science relating to vaccines USA is a basket case Don’t let that US brain virus spread to Europe

"You were scaring people. That was the job of CNN" -- RFK Jr attacks Dana Bash over her claim that the covid vaccine worked. Bash ends up telling him to stop and tries to pivot to measles.

Pro tip: engage with local press. Takes 2 mins and it: • shows you care about a local issue • signifies that whatever town you're visiting isn't just the next input into the rolling PR machine (even if it is) • prevents being called out like this 👇 www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/derby-n...

Derbyshire Live denied chance to ask new PM Andy Burnham questions during visit

Mr Burnham visited rail manufacturer Alstom to launch a new education policy

THE UK priority at the moment is reducing child poverty Free nutritious healthy school meals for all children at breakfast and mid-day Sadiq Khan and Starmer have made a start. BUT it needs proper funding The policy benefits family budget and child education Many are willing to help Burnham?

Burnham gives views on all current topics. It allows us to see he is well short of being radical, unlike Starmer for all his faults Burnham lacks deep critical thinking, simply adopting some of Starmer’s initiatives, w/o understanding their rational & by abandoning the unpopular parts killing them

This is showing every sign of being a government for bien pensants. But centrism has failed in the UK and something new needs to be developed. We can’t not just try the same old approaches more professionally.
