For me, it is a bad idea that many scientists use the hype AI term (among others, because funding agencies ask for that!) instead of deep learning or machine learning, which describe more accurately what we do in most applications. And I think this will backlash at some point...
Erin Biba@erinbiba.bsky.social · 3w agoThere are many uses for AI in science - modeling, data analysis, certain diagnostics - none of those are LLMs and frankly not even really “AI” as we’ve come to know it at all and TBH we need a different name for this kind of “AI” so the science stuff can stop getting dragged into this argument.

I'm looking at the pictures I took yesterday, I didn't want to miss the moment with my own eyes so I didn't bother with settings 😅. But a few are a really good memory for what we saw! 😍
