Now this is more like it! Paramount Animation doing a Bollywood-inspired musical animated film sounds unique enough to stand out in the mainstream animated film landscape (DreamWorks tried with Monkeys of Mumbai but that went nowhere). This is a Reel FX-developed film, too.
Paramount Animation is teaming up with Indian filmmaker Nitya Mehra for 'Diya,' a new feature inspired by Bollywood musicals. #Diya #ParamountAnimation #NityaMehra #Bollywood #animation

Very late to the discussion on this, but honestly, as someone who has seen some people online praising Glitch for example as like, "the Jesus of animation," who is practically perfect, yeah, this quoted post is deadright af.
I'd argue the same goes for platforming indie animation SOLELY to villainize the major studios. I know tons of artists have been burned by them in the past and I get their frustration, but I think going indie seemingly JUST to give them the finger comes off as kinda petty and doomerist.

A indie show being successful should not be used as a weapon or means to bring another indie down Animation is a hard business, harder for indie creators People don’t seem to understand or comprehend that each time one is successful, it makes it easier for the next one to succeed
This is just something that I wanted to point out but I believe that my birthday this year is the first time since I got into Glitch around Spring 2022 where I did not ask and get anything related to Glitch for the birthday/Christmas season. No official stuff and not even fan merch.

Me when I get into a ruins or den filled with Salmonids in Splatoon Raiders (𝑰 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒖𝒑𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒌𝒔 💀):
The fact that Sega has not made any effort to bring their Apple Arcade titles to other platforms when other companies are doing it is infuriating. It had a version of the new Samba de Amigo with an exclusive story mode that just recently got delisted and is no longer playable.
These are the boots that inspired my latest gobbo. So you know what to do.
Mario fans are so boring dude We just got two games that were completely lost for 30 years (with one of them easily being the best game on the entire system) but a *fairly easily accessible game that you can just boot up in Dolphin (or 3D All-Stars if you have it) is more important.
Heck give Donkey Kong Bananza a shot if you want your 3D platforming fix! Let DK have some time to breathe in the spotlight for a change.
"Why has Nintendo been neglecting Mario so much lately?" Try being a Rhythm Heaven fan before Groove, or a Pikmin fan before 4, or a Metroid Prime fan. Mario fans are literally always eating good, you guys have nothing to worry about.
[Pokémon Pokopia] Version 2.0.0 has been released. This update adds the move Dive for underwater exploration. Use it to explore Bubbly Basin if you own the Expansion Pass. A number of improvements and fixes have also been made. Refer to the patch notes for more info.
To those who have reached out to comfort me after my nightmarish ordeal with James, I am deeply grateful for your support. Thank you.
Someone mentioned this on a Discord, and I agree: Ellison’s ownership of Paramount is *uncannily* similar to Ronald Perelman’s ownership of Marvel The exact same shitload of debt, questionable acquisitions, and horrendous management
Oh, well, thanks Nintendo for accidently spoiling next week's Nintendo Music update for Mario Kart World! We're getting Mario Sunshine and Mario Odyssey next Monday, as previously speculated.
Paramount’s proposed $111 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery just hit another major setback. A judge rejected Paramount’s request for a November antitrust trial, instead scheduling for March 2027, which could cost Paramount roughly $1.3 billion.
I'm sorry to have to say this, but Jax is technically meant to be an antagonist if anything else. Villains are always antagonists, but an antagonist is not always a villain.
QTP with a great animated villain!
Great thread including why he was used for a while! I strongly agree that Toadsworth barley has any impact on the Mario franchise plot he appears in. M&L seemed like the only games he had the best roles in and that suited his role. He isn't a developed character sadly than what nobody wants to hear
I feel like while Toadsworth was used a fair bit during the GameCube era because of the spin-offs taking elements from Sunshine, I feel like his character was never that well developed(?). Like, I can think of a game like a few of the Mario & Luigi games where he played a decently big part. (1/4)
🧵There's a lot of romanticizing of Toadsworth going on, and it's the Wii U revisionist history all over again. People latch onto the notion Nintendo has this burning hate for the character to push an agenda about "mandates" that have been contradicted and debunked instead of accepting reality.
I have only started Dragon Hopper last night and finished the tutorial, but...
So it turns out that Ryota Kawade, director of the first three Paper Mario games, directed Dragon Hopper. Not only was this the first game that he directed but also the ONLY game he directed outside of the Paper Mario series.
I only have two complaints about Virtual Boy app at this point: The inability to take proper screenshots, and the lack of VB controller repro
