my adversarial "Digger is about Scientology" reading was a joke when I said it but I don't think it was funny either

It's like hearing gallows humor from an executioner or a confession that there will never be a confession. I can't believe it's funny

I've been auditing research on patient-reported outcomes in the medical lit and it is WILD how many of these projects say oh yes we're open access, here's an open access paper, but the items? No the items are not available and not open. And you can't reproduce them.

I have never seen a map like this one in an academic book. It's from from Derek Hoyos' CARTHAGE: A BIOGRAPHY, and I am intensely jealous that I never thought of putting placenames on slips of paper rather than trying to type them all onto an image of a map.

Caræsten 🇵🇸@cara.city · 3d agoeveryone is making pretty bold anecdotal claims about the Yandex DC going out resulting in less right wing content, but all the actual data I’ve seen has been saying it hasn’t moved the needle at all. I would be very skeptical of these claims; they will almost certainly turn out to be totally false.

People just think science is bigger than it is because science has such unreal outcomes for our lives. There just aren't enough scientists, there isn't enough funding, there isn't enough time and there isn't enough resource for our needs. People think their countries fund it much more than they do
Interesting. Not shocking but interesting that even developers that wanted to build couldn't find financing specifically in SF.
Iñárritu kinda hates himself, kinda hates you, hates society, but really hates Republicans, and most of all hates Adam McKay. And while this makes it sound miserable. It's actually funny, eminently watchable, and the reason to see it in theaters is weirdly enough: the foley work
