Don't get complacent if you are at any risk at all of anaphylaxis! With bees around & exposure to picnic/bbq potluck food, you're going to want epinephrine 1) near and 2) effective. P.S. The caption on the photo refers to past Epipen price hikes. We don't forget, Mylan. wtop.com/local/2026/0...

Heat and forgetfulness can make epinephrine ineffective when you need it most - WTOP News

Allergist Dr. Rachel Schreiber, of Schreiber Allergy in Rockville, Maryland, said one of the biggest problems is not having epinephrine on hand at all times.

#TLSkyChat A4 - Beyond the blogs and trades, I would follow some nerdy people and see where their recommendations lead. Not blind trust, but much like with movie reviews, you can land on a critic/connoisseur whose tastes are a useful dowsing rod. Find the positive folks who like to yell endorsements

A7: definitely buy the *Bound editions that come with lifetime guarantees even if they do get shaved in the process bc the paperbacks fall apart too quickly with elem kids. Paperbacks for HS maybe only. We have a glue machine to fix spines. Lots of tape. But weigh cost of replacement. #TLSkyChat

📚 QUESTION #7 for #TLSkyChat! Q7: How do you approach weeding and maintenance of manga, comics, and GN? Is this different than other parts of your collection? Reply using: A7: Your response here 👇 Make sure to include #TLSkyChat in your reply!

A6: it almost always comes down to “appropriateness”. Violence sometimes, but most of the questions I get from community/ during panels is about bodies — nakedness, scantily clad, bathing scenes, short skirts, etc. The purity standards are wild & even non-sexual nudity makes people scared #TLSkyChat

📚 QUESTION #6 for #TLSkyChat! Q6: What challenges, large or small, relating to manga, comics, and graphic novels have you encountered, and how have you met those challenges? Reply using: A6: Your response here 👇 Tag your responses with #TLSkyChat!

A7. I'm a little suspicious if I should weed the graphics that are in pristine condition, because that speaks volumes in our school. It's also way more intense repair on these sections than on any other! most fiction books in the condition of our copy of Smile would have been recycled. #TLSkyChat

A7: Nope. The approach to weeding is absolutely not different. I follow my CD guidelines for weeding that include use, condition, relevance, accuracy, etc. Condition means this section gets weeded/replaced a bit more frequently due to its popularity/circs. #TLSkyChat

A4.3: soap box time: don’t give up or write off this section. Readers want it. They deserve it. It is NOT just violence and boobs. You owe your readers to invest some time and energy to research and defend it, just like any other section of the library. And defend it to library colleagues #TLSkyChat

A7: Literally where do I even START. My favorite aspects have to be depiction of foreign language (dif. color font, scribbles, etc). My go-to recs: Brownstone, Lunar New Year Love Story, Dream On, Almost Sunset, How to Draw a Secret, Fresh Start, Visitations, & the Stepping Stones series #TLSkyChat

📚 QUESTION #8 for #TLSkyChat! Q8: What aspects of visual storytelling are your favorite? What are your go-to book recommendations? Reply using: A8: Your response here 👇 Use #TLSkyChat to join the discussion!

A7: My CD policies are the same for all books, but my main challenges have been previous purchasing decisions weren’t developmentally appropriate or relevant for my MS readers in all accounts. I really rely on SLJ/pub ratings and the ratings on manga & comics to see what fits in the lib #TLSkyChat
