That's what taxes are, man. That's the definition of taxes. "You are subsidizing things you might never use" man shut the fuck up. My taxes currently subsidize like oil company exec private jets, you think I'm upset at low-income people eating inexpensive bananas?
Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.
This should make everyone who doesn't want to live in a fascist oligarchy 10/10 made at @democrats.org. Don't give them another dollar. You can make a much bigger impact locally. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/03/u...

A dispute over the chapter between the author and the Democratic National Committee has added to the party’s turmoil as it tries to look forward, not backward.

It’s Gillibrand. That should be front and center considering her constituency and her absolute shameful freakout over Mamdani.
NEW: Corporate media zero in signs of antisemitism on the left. Meanwhile, one of Rep. Haley Stevens's most powerful backers in her Senate race attends a Bible study that teaches that the Jews killed Jesus...

If you live or work in NJ I would encourage you to call your scared and/or incompetent state reps. My state senator, Renee Burgess is currently pursuing a vanity license plate bill before asking Senate President Scutari to fix this bad bill. P.S. if they're this scared, they need a new job.
Until they fix this stupid law, if you’re not an NJ resident, I would think twice about going to NJ with an ebike, whether it’s for transportation or recreational. If you don’t have a drivers license for whatever reason, you cannot legally ride an ebike in New Jersey! 🤬
Cathy Englebert is 💯 the wrong person to be dealing with this shitshow. It might be time to dig David Stern up so he can tell these people to fuck off and rig a few games for fun.
Oh, so those girls at the Seattle Storm game were being obnoxious the entire time trying to provoke people and filming the reactions for content. Of course.
I am begging wealthy people affected by various new taxes to continue posting about the specific ways they are affected by them. Get really detailed about it too. Trust me it’s going to win lots of people over to your side
Oh no, not your mom’s pied-a-terre!!!!!!!
This is one of the best things I've read in a while about the psychology of car supremacy, and how those of us who even *question* it are viewed as heretics. Thanks to @pflax1.bsky.social for sending this my way.

Good on Kyle Shanahan to correct the record of his crash to spare the 21 year-old driver a world of pain. www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/... But it sure sounds like the police were trying to cover this up and I do not understand why police lying on reports is not a more serious offense.

The thing I like about Troy Jackson is that his campaign is about how Susan Collins is bad because she’s a Republican and not about how Democrats are bad. Real improvement over Platner.
This Aidy Bryant impersonator owes her an apology and it's impossible to believe that @democrats.org could possibly think this person and her 90 year old friend can win what's essentially a popularity contest in the year 2026. How are they still doing this.
"Cool kids on the Internet. They're doing the cool kid chatter. Some of 'em might be the coastal elites, making fun of how I talk. But let's be real. They're making fun of Michigan. They're thinking they're better than us. Their jokes, their criticism, only make me fight harder." -- Haley Stevens
