It’s pretty wild that every kind-of-hot day 50% of Philly’s public school parents have to figure out some kind of childcare situation because the schools *and their aftercare centers* close because there isn’t air conditioning in half of the buildings.

Marjane Satrapi. A huge loss — an amazing cartoonist & filmmaker, and an enormous influence on generations of cartoonists. She’s also in so many ways responsible for the integration of comics into schools, and was so many people’s first introduction into thinking of comics as “literary”
