the single best thing i did as a trans woman outside of transition was find community irl, it feels incredible to be impervious to online brain worms discourse, we just talk about board/video games and share upcoming events and commiserate, its the best and if you havent done it, try your hardest

yup. unrestricted internet access is what allowed me to learn who i am, while being stuck in an environment that was extremely hostile to the idea. its also what made me who i am, in a way, and i don’t have a single regret about it either. it’s what saved me from becoming a bigoted idiot, really.

1/ I got a bottle of this Echigo Tsurukame junmai daiginjo earlier today. When researching it, was a bit upset to find out that it was brewed with wine (rather than rice) yeast as I don't love this new innovation. But when I tasted it this evening, it was actually pretty drinkable...

2/ More upsetting was to discover that the Echigo Tsurukame sake brewery was destroyed in a fire that took 19 hours to distinguish on the 19th of last month! So I may have drunk some of the last sake ever produced by this Niigata brewery that had over 130 years of history... 🥹
