I do advocacy for public good, communications, problem solving, and sometimes I get people elected. She/her. 📍Treaty 7 Territory (Calgary, Canada) (Opinions expressed are solely my own and do not reflect the views or opinions of my employer.)

The other 9 questions, the noxious nine as some have said, are far worse than question 10. Will the rest of Canada want to even look at much less speak to Albertans who desire a society that is both anti-immigrant & unconstitutional? Alberta will be the embarrassing, racist, obscene uncle at dinner.

I am now seeing separatists telling each other to ignore the other 9 questions and focus on Option 2 for question 10. They are arguing that the other 9 questions are a mechanism to work within Canada.

In the wake of The Globe's investigation, a Calgary MP calls for Canada to consider overhauling laws to address the kind of freelance negotiating trips Alberta separatists made to DC: www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/artic... By Grant Robertson, Nathan VanderKlippe, and friend

Calgary Liberal MP says Canada needs to consider overhauling its laws to address the kind of freelance negotiating trips that separatist leaders have made to D.C.

Oh also, the referendum is now about getting out the vote. So here are some tips to make filling out your stack of ballots easier based on things I muttered “WTF” about when I filled out mine:

I just filled out my mail in ballot for the referendum and it was SUPER annoying and made me grumpy all over again that we are doing this. These thoughts from last year are ever more present for me when it comes to “staying in Canada”:

I’m going to be serious for a moment and remind folks that affirming Indigenous sovereignty should be our priority. Canadians have failed over and over in reconciliation and I’d honestly rather conceptualize all of this as ensuring we honour our treaty obligations.

Can we do a thread of niche things we find satisfying? I’ll start: when you knit something with a new yarn and you notice extra qualities in the yarn that are revealed in the resulting garment that make it even more interesting than you expected when you looked at the unknitted yarn

Just reflecting on the reality that the most consistent and invasive messaging Albertans are getting from our provincial government is about separating from Canada and joining gambling apps.

Thinking a lot about the time my husband googled a guy’s name who was interviewing at his company and found public records of him SA’ing women and, despite the guy having a reference from leadership, he brought it up and said he had huge concerns re: the safety of women in the company.
