Got my first pay and most of it going to pet bond and bills and won't be even able to afford food. This it's just demoralising af
We have up to 1400 of bills that if we don't pay in a week or so will double in late fees. I hate asking but new pay comes in this week but we have to pay to move house and continue to feed our kids, rent & whatever power bills we can. Any help would be appreciated. Amber Craig 02-0688-0247967-00

Not surprised. The past 8 months have been struggle street in this house. We have had to put bills on hold. Cancel evrrything. At one stage we had no internet. We have prioritised rent and food.
locus@locuslebe.bsky.social · 2w agoThis report is shocking. I knew things were dire for many families in NZ but that thousands are experiencing 'food insecurity' is mind blowing. Also to hear that 40% of the take home pay of those in serious need is going into the pockets of landlords shows how deeply this government doesn't care
My tooth broke off about 2 weeks ago. But it is sharp. So of course now I've cut my tongue and in constant pain. Trying to will it away. No money for teeth.
