I love this because I think shame gets a bad rap. Shame, when applied correctly and without malice, can be a powerful learning tool. I'm all for this.

Unpopular take: Business will NOT take a 10% hit in profits, they will ether drop wages of the few remaining check out staff, or prices will go up 10% across the board. If you check out yourself, that's your decision (I do both), but IMHO it won't go well for the workers/consumers Just a thought
Can we have this here in Australia? Shoppers should be paid for their efforts in serving themselves #auspol

Earth is now warming faster than at any point in recorded geological history - around 10 times faster than the extreme warming event 56 million years ago and 20 times faster than at the end of the last ice age. We are almost certainly in a new extinction event.

Maybe the reason Donald doesn’t think what Max Miller is accused of doing to his ex-wife is a big deal is because of what Donald did to *his* ex-wife. In a sworn deposition, Ivana Trump said Donald, angry over a painful anti-balding procedure, yanked tufts of hair off her head and then raped her.
Good to see science and universities bundled into the same analysis rather than treated as separate entities (as they are by their dismemberment in separate government departments). But it would be QUITE NICE if 'science' could be construed in the European sense of science. It's not STEM alone.

Chlöe Swarbrick and NZ Greens with one of the most important messages for the public to note ahead of the upcoming election in Aotearoa.
Peters is, in effect, the default Prime Minister at this point - and he knows it
When both the Speaker and the PM are both too scared of Winston to do their jobs properly .... #nzpol "Winston Peters is being treated differently to everybody else, and I guess it should just be a baseline expectation that all of us in this place have that the rules should be applied fairly."
Chlöe Swarbrick kicked out of House after challenging Speaker's 'double standards'
The Greens co-leader has been kicked out of the House, after challenging what she called the Speaker's "double standards".

There's a clear double standard. Chloe has been sanctioned by Brownlee for incinuating someone was lying, yet Peters outright calls something a lie and nothing happens, and then when Chloe points this out, she is removed? This govt is an utter joke. #nzpol www.rnz.co.nz/news/politic...

Apparently people are shooting domestic cats, possibly because they think they're feral. This seems like an obvious reason for pet owners to put collars on their cats, as well as bells - which more or less stops them being a danger to wildlife. This isn't rocket science!
Brownlee had told her that Peters was allowed to get away with more because he “is part of the institution”. So she has a point. www.stuff.co.nz/politics/361...
Watch: Swarbrick booted out of House for saying Speaker has ‘double standards’

Anyone else picking that Brownlee will bail out for a knighthood and a quiet corner in a boardroom [no attendance required] this summer?
except if that person is Winston Peters, apparently - then it's a full institutional defense from the Speaker and the governing party

The Opposition says people who think they're not enrolled should lodge special votes rather than being turned away from voting entirely.
