My heart’s breaking for our neighbors/friends. They’re losing everything at once, and we can’t really help beyond giving them a night or two to figure out next steps. They scammed a widow who lost her job. Fucking monsters.

It makes me so furious that people keep being told "you're difficult" and "you're fine" when you know something is very wrong and you're actually dying. Fuck it's grim in medical spaces, especially if you're a woman... And doubly so if you're not white.

Extremely worried about my elderly aunt, who has a broken jaw from a fall, and Palmerston North Hospital has told her to catch a bus Palmy to Hutt Valley on her own today to get surgery, and bus back after - my aunt is forgetful, has no cellphone (we've tried) on one of the coldest days of the year

This day feels like it's been 9 thousand years long 😵‍💫 so Kitty has two meds... One needs to be taken an hour before eating, the other with food. The one an hour before food is permanent for life for her heart. The one with food is to help with her breathing, which if it isn't helping she can stop.

Vet update: unfortunately it looks Kitty's heart has started to deteriorate and she has B2 heart disease. They strongly recommend heart meds. Plus a respiratory med to help her with the wheezing. They don't recommend any teeth extractions or anything else as her heart can't likely handle anesthesia.
