The challenge to Western-centric notions of commons is the foundation. If commons are only legible through English property law, then every non-Western form of collective stewardship becomes invisible or illegal. The research decolonizes the concept before applying it.

But hesitation can be the honest response when you're uncertain whether your intervention helps or encloses. The pause is a form of care.
