Anarchy Goose

It's a lovely morning and I am a horrible goose. She/her. Trans. I write things other people would like banned over at: https://archiveofourown.org/users/AnarchyGoose I also have a blog: https://pwnao.blogspot.com Minors DNI

I think the reluctance to say that abusers shouldn't have positions of power comes back to Great Man Theory. There's a temptation to think that movements pivot on particular exceptional individuals and we therefore have to excuse their abuse in the name of their contributions to a higher cause.

This is actually really insightful because like-- I think fascists, cops, soldiers, snitches can all choose to be better. But I think it is widely understood that people who have done those things should not be trusted with power again; removing that is a necessary part of being safe around them.

There a lines a person can cross which make them the enemy. Which make their humanity irrelevant to how we deal with them. Leftists are cool with this for fascists. Cool with it for cops. Many are cool with it for soldiers in Imperial armies. Some even for snitches. But not for rapists.

I've been watching a lot of videos on the new Tone Pro paint range because I'm pretty pumped for a new set and they look cool. But I do think it is very funny how many paint influencers are like "So I got flown out to Nottingham, got exclusive access to cool people the public never get to meet...

I've got a feeling that they've learned all the wrong lessons from The Snap and Doomsday will kill off like half the main cast in an attempt to make people care then bring them back in movie 2/3 but the trouble is nobody cares about any of these characters now.

I do not care what Leo says into a mic until it's "all the total trans healthcare bans in the Catholic Church's massive hospital networks are immediately repealed."

Underneath the "progressive" papacy of Pope Leo remains a deeply reactionary institution, one of the biggest enemies of trans rights worldwide. @sjklapecki.itch.io, who survived the Catholic Church's bigotry firsthand, goes in-depth on why it's time to see through the propaganda and face reality.

Confused by folks saying Geller should have known he wouldn't get away with it. His patron is still at £60k/year today. He has published multiple successful books. Plus whatever he made from other projects. He has been doing this almost 20 years.

(CW: Rape, Geller) The fact that he tries to spin his past as the reason he is 'driven to make the world a better place' would be laughable if it wasn't so disgusting. He dedicated his life to media analysis, which is fine, but it is in no way a route to making the world a better place.

If he had dedicated his life to charity work, mutual aid or assisting victims in some material way this would still be a shocking revelation but at least then you could look at the outcome and see how he got there. Having a passion for gaming and a keen insight on monetising it is clearly not that.

Well, if they wanted to be shared, they should have chosen a different name. Everybody should know that needle sharing isn't a good thing.

Patriarchy is a bargain in which men gain structural power over non-men and the fact that the biggest obstacle to making this clear and doing something about it is the insecurity of men when this is made explicit tells you a lot about how that system operates and what they get out of it as a class.

Just as the lived experience of individual wealthy people is largely irrelevant when discussing the reality of capitalism, the lived experience of individual men is largely irrelevant when discussing patriarchy - and yet everything must be couched and approached softly for fear of setting one off.

People do understand that the 'positive masculinity' embodied in roles like protector and provider are just 'patriarch' under any other name, right? Men aren't offered these roles out of an appeal to benevolence. They get submission to their authority in exchange.
