Our work on NPC biogenesis is now out! Wanlu Zhang investigated the role of FG-Nups in NPC reassembly, pore dilation, and the nuclear envelope remodelling using acute depletions, correlative EM, and MINFLUX imaging 💫. Thanks, Wanlu and all the collaborators!

Excited to share the preprint from my postdoc work @ellenberglab.bsky.social! 🌟 During mitotic exit, cells rebuild thousands of nuclear pores within minutes. How do tiny holes expand to selective channels, and how is this coordinated with the nuclear envelope remodeling? 🔗 doi.org/10.1101/2025...

Did you know that DNA must form overlapping loops to give rise to the well-known X-shape of chromosomes? 🧬🧪 New research from EMBL's Ellenberg Group provides new insights into the process of chromosome formation. @ellenberglab.bsky.social @andibrunner.bsky.social www.embl.org/news/science...

How chromosomes shape up for cell division | EMBL

EMBL scientists have shown how overlapping loops of DNA stack upon each other in dividing cells to give rise to rod-shaped chromosomes

Doing a report on AfD campaigning on Facebook and it really is striking the sheer level of AI images and videos. Smiling white (often blonde) Germans contrasted against glowering dark skinned men. Shameless stuff, but perhaps I shouldn't be surprised

Congratulations to @andibrunner.bsky.social and the team, and many thanks to the lab of Jan-Michael Peters for support! We found that the interphase and mitotic chromatin loop organization have more in common than previously thought: In both stages big loops are built first, small ones second

@andibrunner.bsky.social et al. @ellenberglab.bsky.social show that interphase organization into Cohesin-driven loops occurs in a sequential and hierarchical manner - just like the mitotic organization by Condensins. https://buff.ly/426gIEu @wanluzhang.bsky.social

My first own project is published: Despite major differences in chromosome shape during #interphase and #mitosis, the underlying #loop-extruder based organization is highly similar A new data resource and new insights into human chromatin biology! 🧬🥳
