Good to see a balanced debate about ‘reading for pleasure’ and debate the term too. Context matters - reading in primary school is very different to secondary. My experience with struggling teen readers is that it's the wrong starting point for them, even if it is a worthy end goal.

I find it wild that if you’re verbally abusive to a police officer or a nurse you can be prosecuted, but we are saying that when it happens to teachers it’s not even appropriate to send a child home.
