this is like saying the cubs didn't get the 2016 world series they wanted
Progressives didn’t get the big election night they wanted
The razor-thin margin will only deepen divisions over the future of the Democratic Party.

the most important and consequential outcome of the michigan election is, *especially* after you look at the final tallies and who won which counties, you can start to see the general shape of a mitten

damn I wonder if one political party will learn anything from this or is it yet another aberration in a string of apparent nonstop aberrations
everyone liking and reposting my good election thoughts should additionally be aware I am also very hot and good looking
Tonight we find out whether Michigan voters are bluesky posters or bluesky replyers
no one is ever leading. no one is gaining on another candidate. it’s just incomplete data until it’s counted and verified. this isn’t a football game. this isn’t the top of the seventh inning. it’s just counting.
good reminder that before the counting is over, election results don’t tighten. at no point is anyone trailing. nobody moves closer. they’re just tabulating the polls. it’s a fixed number that just isn’t done yet. to say otherwise is bad journalism but even worse math.
I am at a cubs game and imagine a photo of someone sitting five rows behind the cubs dugout because that’s the photo the internet here won’t let me post so just imagine what I’m bragging about
some people post too much. some post too little. thankfully, I post the perfect amount :) like and share if you agree
2092: everyone must say the blessed six numbers before unlocking any physical door or opening any compu-app. we no longer know why we do this, but it is what The Ancients Have Bestowed
new journalism rule: you don't let the mega rich or politicians write op-eds without them first sitting down for a two-hour interview with your staff
They should make some movies with positive representations of liminal spaces. Like when you work at a convenience store and you can go in the walk in behind the drinks. You can smoke back there and steal sodas. Why don't they show that on the movies
okay I have booked a vacation for later this month to seattle. prepare accordingly. I haven't been since like 2016 so I hope they figured out how to make the streets less steep by now
cop: did he send any texts around the time of the crash? cop 2: he sent a post that reads "padding my three track album with 26 skits and interludes" cop: not bad but it ain't going viral cop 2: posting isn't just about going viral cop: (sighs) not this shit again
I don't even know what to say. This is real, this is true, so, like, thank you all, from the bottom of my heart. This took over 25 years to happen so if there's any lesson here it's either "keep at it, who knows" or "many people are divorced"
Not going to indulge in child related discourse just want to say this is a fucking incredible photo and i will be tactically deploying it when i want to insult someone's taste for the foreseeable future
is there some future competitive advantage with college admissions if you deafened your child to Ludwig Göransson
“damn, the timeline is good as hell right now” and then you realize after liking six or seven things you’ve been looking at one person’s feed and they just retweet good shit and now you look fucking obsessed with them
proud to announce I have become the new CEO of bluesky. my first goal is to get people who are absolutely dogshit awful and hate the vast majority of the existing users to join bluesky :)
did physical therapy this morning and my PT okayed me for going to the gym so I immediately did that and guess. who. now. can't. walk. up. his. stairs. good.
did you guys know you can make cereal with half and half? I mean you shouldn’t but you can
It’s hard to explain but tv was better when you couldn’t watch the show you wanted whenever you wanted to watch it and most of the shows were worse and the TVs were worse and the entire experience was worse, that’s when it was better
So many parallels: Advances followed by brutal backlashes. Hatred cloaked in concern about "fairness" and "undue influence" on children. Insistence that it's a medical/mental problem. Rage at cultural institutions that "promote a lifestyle." Invective about "special rights." Malevolent statehouses.
I have been thinking a lot lately about how so many of the "arguments" against trans rights are essentially the same as the various fake panics about gay people.
