There are a lot of good ideas we are going to get from former Feds and other high-level experts with decades of experience, but they should ALL be HARSHLY graded against whether they can produce a track record of success, and the biodefense angle on public health has failed *literally since 9/11.*

Today is the last day of our Lindy Hop class, so we decided to invite the people in the class — about a dozen people — to our house for brunch. Problem is, the WhatsApp group we sent the invite to includes everyone who has ever taken the class. So far, 25 people have RSVP’d. Help.

The article points out that two doses of the combined MMR vaccine are 97% effective against measles. If you were born before 1989, you only got a single dose of the vaccine, so you may no longer be immune. (I discovered that wasn't.) Tell your Gen-X friends to get their measles booster now!

Two people have died from measles in Pennsylvania. Both were unvaccinated. They're the first measles deaths in PA in 35 years, and the first reported in the US from the disease in 2026. www.cnn.com/2026/08/25/h...
