We’re all grieved over the deaths of Lewis, Cameron, and Fergus last year, in August. I’ve spoken to Allan, Lewis’ father, and spoke in Parliament on Thursday in support of the campaign to introduce gradated licences for young people. The evidence shows that it can make a life saving difference.

As with so many services, the rural Highlands has far worse internet connectivity than elsewhere. In the UK there is 78.5% gigabit availability; for example in the North East of Skye there is only 3%, and South Skye its 4.5%. No wonder so many people cannot work remotely on the West.

Some thoughts from the road - the remote Highlands is in a demographic struggle

No matter where you are in Scotland, you can elect a Liberal Democrat MSP on the peach-coloured regional ballot next year. Every vote for the Scottish Liberal Democrats on that ballot will deliver change with fairness at its heart.

34 million people use the NHS app in England, but in Scotland we still don't have one. Why, in 2025, are patients in Scotland still unable to benefit from an App that provides the same joined-up care that families in England have been able to rely on since before the pandemic?
