As predicted, Susan Collins comes out against Blanche. Don’t make too much of it. The R leadership okayed it b/c they have a vote to lose and b/c Collins in a tight race in Maine, in which Ds have won last several presidential elections. But they can’t lose another. All eyes on Cassidy and Murkowski

Susan Collins announcing she'll vote against a controversial nominee is basically the moment it becomes clear that nominee will be confirmed. It means Thune has enough votes to confirm, and thus, Collins gets a pass to look independent.

I am begging people to understand the reason you pay so much tax is because the richest pay so little. The combined tax dodged by the richest 1% is more than the tax contribution of the bottom 70%. If they paid their tax, you wouldn't have to pay any.

People are making fun of AOC for having a slight southern accent while speaking in Memphis but they clearly don’t know the pain of habitually and unconsciously imitating the speaking style of the people around you

Nah, Blue MAGA are the people who worship Democratic politicians as celebrities and religious figures and will defend literally anything they do. This is more insidious; these are Reagan Republicans who feel ostracized from the party they themselves wrought and want to turn the Democrats into them.

The Bulwark was founded by never-Trump Republicans. rats who jumped from a sinking ship and desperately need a home for their dwindling political power. they want to solidify the Democratic party as centrist at best, blocking out left-wing influence and power. just look at how they work

The vibes may be exciting, but if Democrats are going to win this year and in 2028, they must reject the DSA. If you’re tempted by a democratic socialist this year, think of what use Republicans will make of these victories, and ask whether you want to do favors for fascists.

Zohran Mamdani on Gaza: Yesterday I was on Staten Island for a meeting with faith leaders and a young man from Gaza attended that meeting as part of an organization that houses refugees on Staten Island. He did not have one of his arms He was one of the many children that have been maimed by this

no i do not think its good or the right medium where someone getting paid for advertising spots for skincare or hotel brands or whatever fad is going around is selling their audience political messages

Worst case scenario the US spends all their hard earned cash stupidly and creates a forever war and it causes complete economic collapse of multiple countries. I dunno why you would be in favor of that. Diplomacy costs nearly nothing in comparison, but yes lets go with bombing again. stupid fr
