Flying foxes are threatened species across Australia. But the place where we're staying is their breeding ground. I wish I could capture the sound of millions of flying foxes surrounding you. But it's so loud, it blows out my mic. It's like that scene from Gremlins 2 when they're all in the lobby.

So this is still an issue, unfortunately. Got my first royalties from Amazon, which I'd hope'd would help, but it's only for the handful of sales for the first book in May, which means it's all of...6 dollars. The extra expenses this month have been killer and next month's bills are on the way.

anyway, these thoughts are scattered, but i'm tired of being offered snack food and children's cartoons and a disney vacation and a general air of retvrn to the womb by the world around me telling me that's what a 28 year old human ought to want instead of any form of self-actualization
there is literally no amount of caveats or careful wording that will protect you from stupidity or bad faith, so you might as well say things straightforwardly and strongly to begin with.
freelance graphic design is so cool: the guy who knows what they want and communicates it, always gets what they want even if I half ass it for whatever reason. Meanwhile, someone who doesn't know what they want will torture both of us and then end up paying for something they don't like!
When trans folks point out the cowardice of institutions complying with anti-trans bigotry, we're often hit with "but what do you expect them to do?" Well, this. Say "no." Refuse. Defy. Grow a goddamn spine.
