My toddler has a book of the ocean but whenever I identify an orca he sternly goes "no. Killer whale." Is he anti-woke??

I think the weirdest part of this when it was happening was how many of them were saying stuff like "finally, women are getting a taste of what it's like to be judged about an aspect of their bodies they can't control!" Just living on a completely different plane of reality
What are the incel men up to over on X? Focussing on a quirk of women’s bodies most of us have never even thought about before now. Our take? "Making women mad and getting likes from fellow incels is all they have going for them." Read now: www.playboy.com/read/sex/the...
Oh @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social is on the new QAA podcast episode, talking about the Charlie Kirk assassination conspiracy theories.

Possibly the most deeply confusing example of "luxury beliefs" I've ever seen. *Are* wealthy progressives pushing other parents to choose more risky, novel names?
Definitely makes me respect Polanski more that he's been in trouble enough times over his posting that it's *definitely* been suggested to him that he hand over his socials to someone else, and clearly refused every time.
NEW: I wrote about how the Andrew and Tristan Tate's media business whirs into overdrive every time they're arrested in their little outfits www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Every time the Tates get arrested, their media empire kicks into gear
The online ecosystem they’ve created whirs into action to lie, twist, rebut, confuse, and profit.

My uncle told me a story about a particularly charismatic Catholic priest who ministered to Belfast dockworkers in the early 20C. Apparently 1 time he got them all so worked up that when he asked "do you reject Satan and all his works?" one of them yelled back "yeah, fuck the devil he's a bastard!"
I think @patrickwyman.bsky.social had the story of an enthusiastic-but-somewhat-confused Frankish king hearing the story of the Crucifixion at his baptism and telling the priest “if me and my Franks had been there it wouldn’t have gone down like that!”
Isn't Jonny Depp in his 60s? When in Ebenezer's life *did* he turn into Scrooge exactly
OFFICIAL POSTER - Johnny Depp is Scrooge in director Ti West's A Christmas Carol movie EBENEZER, in theaters November 13, 2026 from Paramount. Andrea Riseborough, Ian McKellen, Sam Claflin, Rupert Grint, Daisy Ridley and Tramell Tillman also star.
It's funny this has become a phenomenon because my complaint was that, if anything, the film is so unrelentingly *unsympathetic* towards Bear that sometimes I felt like I was being hit over the head with it!
I will say this about OBSESSION: it's expertly designed to get men who don't understand consent to tell on themselves by identifying with/writing apologetics for Bear.
Sat there hunched over like "omg Demetrius stop looking at me you're making it worseee"
I would be giggling so bad hiding inside that trojan horse
Great example of how making Twitter into a reactionary echo chamber has weirdly backfired on a lot of its users by making them more and more out of touch. Most people I know who went to see the Odyssey weren't even aware Nyong'o was in it. It was only the "biggest talking point" to racists on X
I was SO painfully bored watching Iron Man 2 I decided then and there to begin a personal boycott of superhero movies, which had no particular effect since they dominated the box office for another 15 or so years. But I stayed strong!

I wrote about Hegseth's weird new testosterone thing and how it fits in with his whole extremely online and Christian nationalist obsession with masculinity and lethality www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
The manosphere and Christian Nationalist roots of Hegseth’s “Low-T” fixation
"We're keeping you on the leading edge of lethality.”

Or much of a drop in public support. Fascinating example of elite consensus switching despite popular opinion.
In two years Net Zero went from broad political consensus to politically toxic, without any particular scandal over the policy.
There is no bottom line apparently
The French Nazis that Loyalists brought over to Sandy Row last night have spray painted a message of support for Gisèle Pelicot's rapist husband just in case you thought the "protect our women" brigade are anything other than human tumours
Miss the Norway game banter about vikings and King Alfred and such... Argentina Vs England seems to be entirely about relitigating history's most boring war
Quite enjoying that the CofE and the Norwegian church made a wager on the football, and the latter now has to change logos for the day.
Count Binface removing the bin from his face to reveal multiple totenkopf tattoos
Good piece, but is this part really true? My impression was always that was how Kirk styled himself, but his audience was always older Republicans convinced they'd found someone who cut through to the young.
Among Gen A he's basically become a funny meme with no context to who he was or his beliefs. Basically he's Keyboard Cat to them - ‘His legacy is cringe’: how Charlie Kirk became a punchline among the young - even his supporters www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
Yes, men tend to think that tradwife stuff is solely fetish content, because that's what their algorithm shows them! But the stuff aimed at women is clearly more in the ideological lifestyle influencer vein
It’s weirder than that. @annieknk.bsky.social looked into this and there are two types of tradwife streams. The kind that gets fed to men is fetish but the kind served to women isn’t.
No Museum of Twitter don't drink from the hose and turn out ok!!!!!!!
Maybe I'm more trad than I thought. Men used to go to war now they're too scared to tell the time
Nigel Farage has just claimed that men in London are too afraid to wear watches in public, which is just transparently nonsense
we must do everything we can to protect against this dark timeline
there is a very real risk, should football finally "come home" - as has oft been prophesised - at the same time, or even around the same time, that Andrew Burnham ascends the steps of no. 10 Downing Street to become prime minister, that we could see the dawn of the Second Age of Britpop
