Thrilled that we have signed two Jaden mcdevils to sit on Naz's shoulders.
@kcmpls.bsky.social finally able read loneliness of sonia & sunny- thanks for the rec, I really enjoyed it. Complicated, nuanced, lots of rich themes. Glad I took my time with it!
Sometimes I think about how Jaden McDaniels's parents already had a kid named Jalen and cannot get over their confidence.
Wolves chat quote of the day re joker trying to rumble with Jaden
The US is at war and repression at home is going to get worse. I'm old enough to remember during the Iraq war the FBI infiltrating quaker meetings and vegan potlucks and cracking down on anti-war groups and outspoken Muslim leaders. The US surveillance state has grown exponentially since then. 🧵
I'm already sick of "It's all a distraction from Epstein" replies. This regime is killing innocent people because our leaders are all power-hungry tyrants and war profiteers. When you say it's "just a distraction" you minimize the gravity of what's happening and the lives lost.
My teen's story: Dizzy spells, heart palpitations, headaches, feeling winded from stairs, excessive napping in an endurance athlete. It was tricky bc she has a couple overlapping conditions, if they had done ferritin and found her level (7!) when it started she would've felt better sooner.
PSA: if you have chronic fatigue and have never had your ferritin checked, please do so. And look at the actual value because the reference range is likely trash. It should be at minimum 30 and ideally 50+ Thank you for your attention.
I was at a campaign event yesterday & a politician friend made this very important point to me: we can talk about all the different MN elections in Nov, but none of them is as close and crucial to fighting fascism than reelecting Keith Ellison
It was a year ago that protests began at the Tesla showroom just outside of Minneapolis (Golden Valley). The “Tesla Takedown” protests occurred worldwide after Elon Musk, who gave nazi salutes the month prior, took a major role in the new Trump Administration. chaddavis.photography/tesla-takedo...
Play through the whistle, Minnesota!
This morning Tom Homan announced operation metro surge would end soon. I’ll believe it when I see it. We still need people out and staying vigilant until every last agent is gone and everyone wrongly taken to Texas or anyone else is back home.
I believe there are already reported incidents like this that resulted in sexual assault (at least in other states) and there's no doubt in my mind it's happening here.
An agent told the teen to call her family and ask them to pick her up. But the agent said that if they came, ICE would send the entire family to Texas. The girl writes “My family decided not to come and pick me up as a result of this threat. ICE decided to take me to a hotel.” tinyurl.com/3nkf9sbd
Imagine you’re 5 and you’re in kinder and it’s a normal day, you had breakfast with your family and they walked you to the bus stop and gave you big hugs and kisses and told you how much they love you and they can’t wait to see you after school. Imagine you spend all day learning and thinking
Living in Minnesota right now feels like being in the emergency room. Literally everyone is suffering in different ways, even if it's "just" a badly twisted ankle rather than a kidney stone or a full-on heart attack. The staff are working as hard as they can but energy and resources are dwindling.
Some people will post "look trauma and bad endings are all around us and women who read romance do not understand their world is not realistic" And I would just like to say get fucked. I never see this discourse about Jedis. Jesus Christ it's fiction. And sometimes that fiction can show an ideal.
Minnesota Nice: actually being nice, but a little insular Minnesota Nice: passive aggressive Minnesota Nice: you said something incorrect and wrong about the state, its people, and now you are never going to not hear about it. Remember the NYT? And that dish they said was the official dish?
You could literally follow the social media of the Minneapolis City Council president and know this is simply not true Just the bare minimum "investigative" reporting
Actually, one more thing. The story isn’t over. But it’s mostly aftermath stories now. It’s not going to be people who are there to cover as it happens. It’s going to be quieter work that you’ll see in print in 9 months.
I want to give kudos to bmtn for this headline.
Jake Lang, a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter, filmed himself destroying an anti-ICE ice sculpture made by military veterans in St. Paul. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/pardoned-jan-6-rioter-jake-lang-destroys-prosecute-ice-veterans-sculpture
The very least the @nytimes.com could do is hold the president and all adult electeds to the same standard on posting that I do for my adolescent children.
Reacting to a video snippet feels like responding to a headline. Sometimes necessary--but context rules
It’s so hard to describe what this is like to people who aren’t here. The ICE/BCP occupation seeps into everything. It’s not just the horror of the big stuff. It’s the little stuff, too: helicopters all night, vigilance during every trip out of the house, guilt at having any downtime at all.
I've personally had barely any ICE encounters. I've done patrolling when I can. And my body is just yelling at me that it's wrecked. Even doing a little bit is fucking taxing. Everyone doing more is a superhero, and I don't think folks who haven't been involved in an occupation understand the toll.
This is a big recall, but it's been out for about a month-double check the retailers linked though. It's unfortunately smaller stores using the distributor.

I keep saying this and obviously it applies to any place where there's a headline-grabbing crisis/war/situation/etc: What you see in the news stories about the Twin Cities, even the deep-dive articles, is a *fraction* of what's actually happening. Countless other stories untold.
Honestly, isn't the most telling thing about her that she simply would not commit to @itsthebrandi.bsky.social about which state fair was best between Iowa and Minnesota during her presidential bid?
Sharing again, please add what you want folks to know about Klobuchar
What @prisonculture.bsky.social always says is: find the thing you can do and do it. You can’t do all the things. (Or something like that but more eloquent). I remind myself when I feel I should be writing marching observing delivering organizing meeting reporting shopping
I paid my therapist a zillion dollars to tell me this, so I’m passing it on to anyone else in MN who needs to hear it: Think of taking time away to recharge not as not doing the work, but as doing quality control for the work. You’re not going to be able to show up to do it well if you’re depleted
"I never need to think of shampoo because whenever the bottle runs out another magically appears"
There are a lot of men out there who do not see any of the logistics happening around them and they're like "wait, where the fuck did these hand warmers come from?" Look at every kid wearing mittens, and that's your answer. From the people who have been silently keeping hands warm for centuries.
Can't get over the fact people think the natl guard will save us
One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!
