New York City’s business elites are long accustomed to direct access to City Hall, where even Democratic mayors felt the need to court the city’s wealthiest and most influential corporate leaders. That access is getting shredded by Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

The worst part is, slavery is still very much a real thing ie. Prison labour and literal generational slavery in the global south in multinational mines/manufacturing. But it will never be enough. The ruling class is a cancerous tumour on our entire species.

There are exactly zero industries where "AI" is delivering on the promises made by the people selling AI. The exact opposite is true, though. The amount of human intervention required to validate the hallucinations of AI is being ignored by our governments and media or anyone that could stop this.

AlphaFold was always bait-and-switch; now Google confirms it. A hyper-narrow bioinformatrics model with actual science bolted on whose guesses can be experimentally checked was never a licence for socially-applied slop at scale, but it's done its job. Effort transferred to LLMs.

We should try arresting our way out of a social issue here in the US. For the first time.
