it's wild how often white men freak out when they don't see their lived experiences centered in movies when i watch and enjoy romantic comedies all the time despite the fact that i have never once brushed my teeth at the same time as the person i'm dating

Basic issue is that, between the Constitution and the Supreme Court, the only remedy when the president breaks the law is impeachment, and that's Too Drastic A Step for this Congress to take.
It's already illegal. Congress banned it near-unanimously in 2022. That law allows the ban to be lifted only if Russia withdraws from Ukraine. He's simply breaking the law that's already on the books.
Every time a conservative talks about trans people like we are some massive issue plaguing society despite being like 1-2% or less of the population, I make another 1% of the population nonbinary, so please keep talking about us, I am surrounded by so many baddies named like bug or rock or moss
nonbinary hank hill voice: i sell pronouns and pronoun accessories
I'm mean on here sometimes but I could be a lot meaner. and I think you should all appreciate that. you're welcome
sebulba's out their kicking himself thinking about how he should have shot space hitler when he had the chance
But the movement is growing, it is spreading to ever wider regions, it is penetrating more and more deeply into the working class and is attracting public attention to an ever-increasing degree.
What Derek Chauvin did to George Floyd was a public extrajudicial execution. Keep that in mind when you say we haven't had a public execution since 1936. We have, actually. Many times. They're called police murders.
How come no actor who gets super deep into character while playing a historical figure ever gets carried away and launches a public jobs program or overthrows a fascist government? It's always just doing an accent all day and yelling at crew members for not calling them "Wolfgang" or whatever.
like to extend some logic around here, he's not stopping them from protesting but 1. you still really don't want the military this close to free speech activity as law enforcement; 2. if he was going to stop them, this is also how that would start
Definitely feels like not our fault!
...Assumption #4 has been driving me batshit, yet no one seems to realize it: if you're worried trans ppl might potentially harm your Dem candidate's chances, then YOUR CANDIDATE MADE A BAD DECISION! so why not join us in trying to get them to reverse position? juliaserano.medium.com/on-democrats...
It's hard to be as positive about the video essay "scene" as I really want to be, when its tendency towards a boy's club for mediocre sex pests seems inevitable. I don't want to talk about this fucking guy any more but people are *still* posting shit like "we're in hell is the only good leftist man"
he is committed to believing he has done no wrong, and I am committed to showing the world exactly who he was to me. He’s had years to make things right and he won’t do it so it forces my hand to remind everyone he’s a piece of shit rapist.
I had offered that man an opportunity to participate in transformative justice where he could take accountability for his drinking and his sexually abusive behaviors in private over a period of time that made me feel comfortable, and he drank through the entire thing and tried to force an apology
i think it’s so funny how people bring up the fact i’m not a perfect victim bc im messy online like you’re so close to achieving gnosis that i am like this on purpose to challenge your sympathy. i hold grudges and shit talk and act like a man to weigh your heart like anubis.

NEW from me: The National Association of Evangelicals (along with several other religious groups) are now joining the USCCB in condemning Defense Sec. Pete Hegseth’s plans to publicly execute Nidal Malik Hasan, also saying doing so promotes a “culture of death.” religionnews.com/2026/10/09/h...
I don't mean to be controversial or political but I think the paramilitary force full of violent failsons that acts with absolute impunity is not good
Idk y'all I think the secret police that violently terrorizes our neighbors and doesn't bother following any laws nor vetting the people they hire for mental health problems and histories of violence, and that recruits with nazi iconography may be bad actually

It's been almost a decade since I wrote this piece about Arkansas but I often think about that execution spree because of what it showed me up close about the death penalty, prisons, and torture in this country.
Arkansas Justice: Racism, Torture, and a Botched Execution
Despite its long history of torture, racism, wrongful convictions, and botched executions, Arkansas is still intent on carrying out the death penalty.

We absolutely should be horrified by reports of planned public executions and see them as an overt re-embrace of spectacle lynchings--while also understanding that the story of the "modern" death penalty in this country is inextricable from that history, rooted in racial violence & white supremacy.
Alabama’s Lynching Memorial and the Legacy of Racial Terror in the South
At the National Memorial for Peace and Justice in Montgomery, Alabama, the historical link between lynching and the death penalty is hard to miss.

I've been thinking and talking and writing about the death penalty for my whole adult life and the past week+ has been truly surreal and exhausting, not only because of the onslaught of horrors but because there seems to be so little historical memory of what this system is and always has been.
only the white man could do the direct hit to the other white man. The Muslim, brown man could not. We live in the U.S.
Ossoff and El-Sayed took different tacks tonight vs their opponents—El-Sayed was more of a subtext of “you dumb fucking racist jackass” while Ossoff’s was more “if you fell down at a gas station I’d toss a lit match on you”—and I don’t think either of those is a bad choice tbh
