Another thing I love about the new house: the kitchen is easily twice the size of our old one. It has a dishwasher and a double sink and there’s so much more counter space that there’s room for Gideon to supervise

A very handsome orange cat with a white mask and paws sitting on a yellow cloth grocery bag on a counter.

There’s also room for the cats’ water fountain on the counter, rather than the floor. It is so much easier to keep clean and the cats use it way more often. It’s not pictured here because there’s so much counter space that it’s in a different section. I can’t emphasize enough how little space there was in our old kitchen 🥲

Okay here’s my running thread of stuff I love about our new place! The inspiration for this thread was the fact that I can smoke weed on the balcony all day long and won’t ever get in trouble for it. It’s literally in the strata rules that you’re allowed to smoke weed on the balcony.

Is it weird if I start a “stuff I love about the new house” thread? Because there’s a lot of stuff I love about the new house, and we spent ten years in a really shitty place and then found our dream home with everything we wanted and sometimes I wanna be grateful about it on main

The Library at Mount Char is a life-changing novel. I devoured it in 24 hours and have thought about it every day since. It’s gorgeous and terrifying, a powerful exploration of familial trauma and the fawn response. As an eldest daughter, I felt seen and understood. Gorgeous book.

Odyssey sequel that takes place in Ithaca New York in 1997 and all the Greek gods are still around but significantly more tired. The movie is about a guy going home from work and it takes an extra 10 minutes due to the gods not really being into it. He barely even notices the inconvenience.

It's honestly maybe a point that we should be making more regularly. Trump, Musk, J.K. Rowling- they are all perfect examples of "capitalist success" and yet they are all miserable all the fucking time.
