RNDC Important Update For generations, Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC) has been proud to serve customers and suppliers across the United States. We are grateful for the partnerships we have built and the trust you have placed in us throughout our history. On July 26, 2026, RNDC initiated a voluntary chapter 11 process to explore potential sale transactions in court and implement an orderly wind down of our remaining operations. National Distributing Company, Inc. is not part of the chapter 11 filing. With respect to the Company’s joint ventures, at this time, the Company’s joint venture in Alaska is the only joint venture included in the filing, while the Company’s joint ventures in New York, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky are not part of the filing. This decision was not made lightly. Over time, our industry has evolved, consumer preferences have shifted and the wholesale environment has grown increasingly challenging. Over the last several months, we have taken deliberate steps to transition our operations across certain markets. We pursued and closed sales that preserved over 5,000 jobs and allowed our businesses in those markets to continue serving their customers and suppliers. Ultimately, RNDC’s financial position required us to pursue an in-court process. The court-supervised process is intended to give us the time and flexibility to continue working with parties that have expressed an interest in acquiring our other markets and conduct an orderly wind down of our remaining operations. As we move through this process, we intend to continue to meet our obligations under certain transition service agreements related to the previously disclosed sales of certain of our operations. We have received a commitment for financing from certain of our lenders to support the business during the chapter 11 process. We thank our suppliers and customers for their patience and support. I am begging, pleading, imploring those entrusted with design tasks — stop using Illustrator when you should be using Indesign. On behalf of precision, consistency and file size, please JUST STOP! (And maybe stop using Canva at all, but that's another conversation.)

The sky in Toronto today is sepia toned and it is creepy. It brings to mind my childhood fear that the world would end due to climate change. Specifically, I was concerned I’d be at my father’s and I’d never see my mother again. I was a fun kid! But I suspect it was an early indication of OCD …

I’m going to take my vacation thusly: Every Friday this fall, I’m taking the day off to do the foundational honours class in sociology. I’m taking Friday off work to read Foucault and Marx and I could cry it’s so lovely. (I mean, it doesn’t have to be Foucault and Marx. But it will be.)
