Hajime Komainu - [Yokai|Artifact] - Some of the earliest 'KomaInu' in Japan where made by stone masons who had no clue what a "komainu" was, so they made them without reference, relying only on rumors, their imaginations & memories, Results are very charming! ❤️ samkalensky.com/products/haj...

Learning ClipStudio part 3! Sure, there are some annoyances. Some of the tools are in different places and called different things than PS. Or, they're missing altogether (making a whole layer have an outline as a layer effect, for instance)> However, the good stuff totally outweighs the bad...

A nerdy bunny sitting on a bench reading manga. A can of carrot juice is on her right and a cloth with two carrots on it are on her leftThe same nerdy bunny but, in halftone

Learning ClipStudio part 2! ClipStudio has more powerful coloring options than PS and the halftone effects are fun to play with. You can also import 3-D items to either use directly or trace and manipulate. Speaking of manipulating, their Mesh TF tool is light years ahead of PS

A confused nerdy bunny!
Why is she confused? Well, probably because she went to sleep a guy in a suburban bed in a pair of boxers and woke up in a college dorm room looking like this...The same confused nerdy bunny but in halftone

Learning ClipStudio part 1! It's an illustrator's and comic maker's tool and no mistake. It's also a one-time, forever license fee (f**k Adobe!) and there are loads tutorials from them and highlighted by them on how to get the most out of it. Here's a bimbo bunny as a test www.clipstudio.net/en/

This is utterly magnificent! I love this sort of thing with all my heart. The ending showed how masterful they are as musicians. When Ms. Giddens began slowing down, Wu Man was so deeply aware of the song that the drop in tempo and volume, and the in-time ending felt rehearsed.

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

If anyone would like to see a short video of a Guinea Pig doing the one thing our national rail providers seem incapable of doing by providing a fast, cost-effective and reliable train service, this is your lucky day.

Analogue horror Godzilla I painted. Some friends think it’s just goofy but some others think it’s really creepy. I think it’s both somehow.

OLD ART ALERT! My dad found some really old art of mine last week. Wow. I was REALLY into stippling Stippling looks great but is inordinately time-consuming. For one thing, you have to create gradients in one go. If you go over it later, you'll get blobs rather than a smooth gradient. #inkdrawing

Someone pointed out to me that two-track dirt roads (roads with a grass strip in the middle) are the result of motorized vehicle traffic Roads in the horse-drawn days had no grass strip: the draft animals who walked between the wheels wore it down Now, I see it EVERYWHERE!

Prompts a fun question: whats the most niche historical inaccuracy in a piece of work that annoys you Not like 'oh they were referring to the wrong king' , more 'they had the wrong king on a banknote in one scene'

Yeah! To be clear: using redeences is not tracing! They are a WONDERFUL tools! And the more you use them, the less you need them for certain things. Do you think I would be working on a drawing of a Jaguar XKE without references? However, I can shift and rotate it to fit the composition.

Use reference. I’m serious. I get it that somehow you or someone convinced you that using reference is “cheating.” It’s not. You are just hindering yourself.
