Holy crap! Today's the day! Please Allow 5-7 Days for Justice's author, @amfosterwrites.bsky.social, has clearly spent a few too many years as a spreadsheet jockey. Our hero's brush with galactic bounty hunting is futuristic and funny, but the bureaucracy he navigates is uncomfortably contemporary.

Monkey Island released on this day in 1990. Still my favourite of all the Lucasfilm adventures. As a child, there was something transportive about the game and I spent a lot of time thinking about the world, characters and puzzles even when not playing it. Now I’m replaying them with my children 🥲

Also, folks could just hide anything in the code they wanted to. Cryptominers, spyware, keyloggers... and since everyone decided to deskill themselves, the ability to find and detect that stuff will vanish. It was a fun hobby while it lasted, now it's just a race to see who can burn the most jungle.

1995, man. I don't think any of us really took the "surfing" metaphor all that seriously (and let us not speak of "the information superhighway"), but on the other hand it did kinda feel like that sometimes.

Do you want to help block AI from being normalized as part of the TTRPG industry? Yes? Great! Hasbro corporate leadership would like to stuff it into your face, while the actual creatives don't want it. So go sign the support letter for the D&D and Magic Workers unionizing.
