Reuters: Iran wants fees of 5%-7% of the price of cargo from ships using the strait; Oman wants 3%. "Making fees voluntary, at least nominally, could be a way out of the impasse, although an implied threat of Iranian attacks could mean shippers would be ​unlikely to risk transit without paying."

Note, the three other cases linked to Davey Hearns (Judge Todd Edelman joined them for discovery purposes) were all dismissed via Nolle Prosequi, basically prosecutors saying they couldn't be bothered to continue. That gives defendants less means to ask for Edelman to look further.

MORE CASES DROPPED: Prosecutors are now dropping charges against three more defendants who'd been accused of vandalizing the Reflecting Pool. Jeanine Pirro abruptly abandoned the four cases after investigators concluded that botched work by a contractor was the primary cause of "widespread damage."

I think we've forgotten just how insane QAnon was for a while. Q believers got a charter school fundraiser shut down because they thought James Comey was going to attack it. They deluged a butterfly sanctuary with death threats. A guy killed a Mafia boss and wrote "Q sent me" on his hand!

I used to do some work on the ethical use of satellite and drone imagery for aid and disaster response, and it is genuinely hard to express in words what a dangerous, stupid thing Google is doing by making it easy to use GenAI to create faked satellite imagery:
