Bluesky absolutely can expand outside of a specific slice of American Politics in pretty straightforward ways. Like Twitter is still aggressively used in Japan and that's a good place to start chipping away. Entire industries. Getting sports posters on here has made the site more engaging.

I think the Bluesky bubble effect is because no right wing movement can organically gain traction in such a hostile environment thanks to minorities and the gays making it successful in the first place and deciding not to tolerate it going forward

This is why the people on Bluesky are here, because the self moderation tools completely diffuse attempts to weaponize your followers into harassment.
