I’m a film and animation buff from the UK and aspiring voice actor and historian. Autistic. Letterboxd: https://letterboxd.com/alexm01/ YouTube: www.youtube.com/@alexmillar4878

So I have just saw Ponyo and one of my favourite things about the film is the relationship between Fujimoto and his wife, Gran Mamare. Despite their differing personalities (Fujimoto's anxiety and frustration, valid yet often extreme, and Gran Mamare's calm and wise nature) they go so well together.

Did I ever mention how much I love HMV stores? They’re like a true goldmine for physical media collectors and it feels like stepping into the Criterion closet each time you’re in them. It’s a travesty that these stores are dying out cos we need them now more than ever.

I just finished watching that video and I agree it is insufferable… It reminds me of how in Emoji Movie Guy’s Wish video he constantly states that those who gave the new WDAS films positive reviews are the sole reason why Wish ended up the way it was.

And in this video, he doubles down and he even says people who like Zootopia 2 and who might end up liking Zootopia 3 and Frozen 3 have no taste. Alex sure making a lot of friends lately.

He’s not only easily one of my favourite animators of all time, but also from all the interviews I’ve seen he’s just the kind of guy with such a fun loving and optimistic personality that I think I would instantly be friends with if we met in real life.

I'm really glad Eric Goldberg got awarded a Disney Legend award cause his work at Walt Disney Animation Studios is just iconic and incredible stuff. I adore his animation so much.

I'm shocked and devastated to hear that Hayden Panettiere passed away at 36. She did a lot of voice work and I'll probably remember her best for voicing Dot in A Bug's Life and characters in Kingdom Hearts. The fact she died so young is just terrible.

I’ve seen the first few episodes and it’s a pretty cute anime so far. And yes, the third episode was certainly a highlight for me especially with how accurate they made the park look to the real Tokyo Disneyland just with hilarious off brand names instead.

Thank you to @ravenwitchshade.bsky.social for providing this incredible screenshot. Also, please read/watch Kaiju Girl Caramelise. It's one of the most delightful romances I've experienced in a while.

🧵 Ok, let’s go through a quick lightning round on my thoughts on most of the announcements; Bluey Movie trailer: Adorable! Nice to see the characters make a solid transition to cg and I’ll be interested in seeing what the plot’s about. Hexed: I still stand by I’m cautiously optimistic about it-

As someone who had a very stereotypical close minded view of girls when I was a kid, watching stuff like tangled and Coraline made me realise that girls could be more than just the damsel. I appreciate animation studios like Disney and Lakia for showing my dumbass that:)

I also will state that I actually liked Wish (I even saw it in cinemas with my father and we enjoyed it. I also got a Star plushie), though I certainly do agree that it does have problems such as the overeliance on Disney callbacks and the story, characters and songs certainly need a lot of work.

I went to see Minions and Monsters again this time with my dad, and honestly, seeing the Hexed trailer up on the big screen really makes me sad that so many people are calling it Ai generated and even going as far as to say an actual Ai generated trailer of it when only the concept art was released-

Absolutely. I’d even go as far as saying he’s my favourite non-Studio Ghibli anime film director and all of his films are just so special to me. (And yes, that does even include Scarlet. I actually didn’t think it was that bad when I saw it even though I do agree it’s his weakest so far.)

Mamoru Hosoda's films are such a wonderful treat. If you haven't seen one of them yet, I highly recommend you do so. They're a delight.

Not to mention that some of these big name actors became celebrities because of the MCU. Ex: Robert Downey Jr. became famous for playing Tony Stark/Iron Man and it brought him back to popularity after going through a big slump.
