8 years ago, Dad and I went to choose a puppy, but the puppy chose us. While the other German shepherd puppies were mostly running around and chewing on one another’s ears, one little pup made a beeline straight for Dad and fell asleep, with his snout on Dad’s leg and one paw draped over his foot.

Still feeling shithouse, but am trying to make myself feel better by playing with some of my new art supplies. When I test new paint brands, I like to see how many colours I can mix using a limited colour palette. What better subject for that than Australia's lovely rainbow lorikeets?

A small watercolour journal with a watercolour chart painted and a line drawing of a rainbow lorikeet. Next to the journal are four tubes of colour, a mini Art Toolkit palette and various travel brushes.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but when someone makes it clear to you that you will never be good enough for them, you do not need to spend any more time or energy trying to be good enough for them.
