A confirmed large significant tornado is ongoing on the southwest side of the Appleton, WI area. Huge debris ball and dual-pol tornadic debris signature in NEXRAD radar data. #wiwx

The 12Z GRB sounding aptly indicated the risk of very large hail (high CAPE and very elongated hodograph) with this morning's intense hailstorms across northern WI (multiple reports of hail up to 3 inches in diameter).

United Airlines has basically melted down today. Computer crash delayed morning flights, United ops decided to prioritize moving airplanes instead of passengers. And now bad weather has flights diverting all over the place. Passengers have no idea what's going to happen to them.

So far this year we've had: the warmest winter on record in the mountain west, a record-shattering heat wave in Europe, once in a thousand year rainfall and flooding texas and forest fire smoke blanketing the mid west and the north east. Feels like something's going on with the climate!
