deck.blue@deck.blue · yesterdayThe main usage for this was thought of with a few artist friends of mine which basically boils down to this: - As an artist, you're now able to keep a sequence of reposts (say, every 2 hours) for your latest publications or even some old ones in-between; you can set it to "loop" until you change it
And once again, if you don't have money to pay for the Patreon, that's totally fine and I'm able to gift you with 3 months for free for you to try it out! Artists are the driving force of Bluesky and I want to build the definitive tool for you!
And in case you didn't know from my frequent reposts about it: I'm one of the few developers here against Generative AI and every type of it; this feature was built by my own fingers in the keyboard for the past month. Let's keep Bluesky the definitive way of finding amazing artists!

Anthony Moser@anthonymoser.com · 11mo agoI keep seeing posts about ai models like "actually they're good at this thing now!" but once you understand that ai tools are being built by fascists in service of attacks on humanity, whether or not they can generate useable code or do basic searches kind of stops being the main question

Not to soap box about this but i feel that ppl in the english indie comics space should hear it: creating doujinshi/self published comics without the stamp of a prestigious fair or an indie publisher does not make you any less of a comic artist. drawing comics makes you a comic artist.

In our own tests, we added a “bomb blast and crater” to an area of Los Angeles. This is a misinformation time bomb, will 100% be abused www.404media.co/google-earth...
it's kind of funny how early wikipedia was strongly dismissed as an unreliable source for research despite being pretty good if you could parse sources and citations and now we have a homunculus that actually fabricates incorrect unverifiable info and makes up sources and people take it seriously

Valuing your hand crafted art (writing, knitting, cooking, woodworking, etc) and then using generated imagery around it and proudly declaring that you used AI to make it feels bad! Like you only value the hand crafted nature of one thing? The rest doesn’t matter! Weird!
The only thing I can return to whenever someone popular disappoints or worse is to not avoid liking something or someone, but to never define yourself by or create a whole existence around them or it

Seeing every small business, be it a local restaurant, a moving company, whatever, all having AI logos and AI ads, really puts into perspective just how many artists are out of jobs now. All those little sustaining jobs where someone just needed a quick thing for $50 to $200 are just gone.
It's so disappointing. It makes me question all kinds of things about how people value art that I'm not fully able to put into words, but it scars something deep inside my soul. And SO many places do this now. It's like seeing a sign on every corner that just says "I hate you" over and over again.
