At tonight's ANC 5F meeting, DGS told us that, for PEPCO work in support of the ATC, they plan to close the section of the MBT between Randolph and R Street for excavation for *8 weeks*. DDOT is still figuring out the traffic control plan, but this is something we're tracking. #bikedc

Would be even nicer if @ddotdc.bsky.social could remove the post as it's been ~4 years since used. @aru5f02.bsky.social - any chance this can be added to our ANC's clean-up list?

I assume that ANC 5E now recognizes that transportation needs extend beyond commission borders, which is why they are opining on parking that exists solely within ANC 5F. I'm looking forward to a mea culpa on their resolution opposing our request for bike lanes on Q & R Street.

A fun part of being an elected official playing #TranspoBINGO is that I can tick squares by doing my job. This week I signed ANC 5F's official letter responding to @ddotdc.bsky.social's Strategic Bike Plan, re-emphasizing our desire for protected bike lanes spanning the District on Q or R Street.
First #TranspoBINGO square! I rode two Metrorail trains from NE (and NW) to get a haircut in Arlington, the old Southwest quadrant.

The latest on trash collection from DPW. Collection is continuing, albeit slightly behind. If your trash hasn't been picked up, leave the can out. Please move any obstacles in alleys to allow the bobcat crews to remove ice and snow to make collection easier.

If your household normally gets Tuesday frontside trash collection, put your trash & recycling bins out front by 6AM Sunday, February 1, for pickup Sunday.

Interesting tidbit from the Mayor's office regarding trash and recycling pickup: "Trash service was slid all week and will resume next week. DPW will be clearing alleys that they have to route down to pick up trash." This alley clearing is a new and necessary development.

Good news! Following another vehicle incursion on the trail, and additional news coverage, DDOT has confirmed to us that they are taking steps to protect the entrances to the MBT from drivers. Props to my colleague @joe5f6.bsky.social for keeping these comms going while I was heads down at work.
