Additionally, if DC had impounded this car when they caught it obstructing a fire lane on June 9th, this driver may not have had the means to injure a child.

I just saw a parent of a baby say most "anti-car" people are non-parents, citing pediatrician appointments, and oh that is just so myopic (and relatable - I remember!). But sir. You have been at this for less than a year. Pleeease talk to some parents of kids 5 and older 🙃

CW-bigotry. Last night, the Ward 5 Leadership Council (which includes of ex-elected reps from Ward 5) sent an email to a number of people (including myself) full of ramblings and allegations about the elections, Free DC, and the Free DC Slate. They also made some incredibly bigoted remarks.

The one person one vote principle has essentially been overshadowed by what is ultimately becoming a caste system. The face of Project Free DC is black and brown, but the decision-makers and the at-large committee members are largely East Indian and Euro-Americans.
There is a thin veneer of black leaders like Phil Pannell, but the At-Large winners are largely East Indians and Euro-Americans and the committee men and women are largely disgruntled community folks who are easily led. The candidates and many of their followers had no idea what happened to them. The dark money usurped the individual's voice in lieu of a form of "group speak" which is ultimately a subtle form of voter suppression.

In purple, I'm trying to add the most critical "connect the dots" new protected bike lanes that should be added, with the goal of creating a fully connected protected network that never skips a block. What would you add to this?

When you're in the back of an ambulance, every second makes a difference — and a single minute could mean the difference between life and death. New research shows that congestion pricing sped up EMS travel times by more than a minute.

A bike planner died on his community’s streets, and I wish that this was a unifying moment for the transpo practitioner community to come together to demand networks of all-ages facilities for people on bikes. Not ITS or robocars or bulbouts. All-ages bike facilities. RIP Riley O’Neil.

DC friends, they've started up checkpoints again. There's a checkpoint at Rhode Island Ave NE and South Dakota Ave NE. And fuck ICE.

"This is a focused, life-saving intervention aimed at the most dangerous drivers on our roads," FSS Founder Amy Cohen praised the passage of Illinois' #StopSuperSpeeders bill, which now awaits @govpritzker.illinois.gov's signature. Learn more via WAND News ⤵️ www.wandtv.com/news/stateho...
