I fundamentally do not know how to square the politics whereby Democrats will essentially have to tell the American people that because they (the voters) made an extremely stupid decision, they need to lower their expectations substantially for the foreseeable future, but here we are.
Taking my time to really listen and learn from the very valid concerns of the MAHA movement:
we should hear MAHA out about this they might be onto something
They’re all going to come crawling back lol
For federal elections, splitting the GOP into two competing crank Nazi movements would be great for Democrats. At the state/local level, however, we'd be condemning large portions of the South and Midwest to governance by Crossfit George Wallace's.
This was the car my grandparents had when they lived in Kentucky. I have deep memories of it from the late 90s to like 2008. I would ride in the back-facing seat from their house in Fairdealing to movies in Paducah or to the Thanksgiving dinner we always ate at Patti’s in Grand Rivers.
Alright, time to suck it up, get over it, etc. Vote blue no matter who and keep that Michigan seat in the Dem column www.nbcnews.com/politics/202...
Abdul El-Sayed wins Michigan’s Democratic Senate primary, notching a Midwest victory for the left
The former public health official has defeated Rep. Haley Stevens, NBC News projects, despite facing a huge advertising disadvantage.

Looks like a 10-15 point polling miss in Michigan regardless of who wins. And people have been writing a lot of electability takes using this data. It’s dangerous out there folks be safe
Looks better for El-Sayed than Stevens tonight. What happens, tomorrow it will be time to suck it up and vote blue

Here’s my favorite version of my favorite Flaming Lips song. My strongest memory of this song is listening to it on the grounds of San Damiano in Assisi, where St. Francis is said to have heard Christ. youtu.be/K6JJqUORsX4?...

Yes I’m making SHEIN/Temu about how social media is bad
IMO some of this is an influencer problem. People want the immediate gratification of making videos with cute outfits and cool gadgets. And SHEIN/Temu junk will last long enough for you to make that one viral video on Instagram or TikTok.
Yeah I agree with Alan here, and I do think that one of the reasons that *this* market exists is not so much "poverty" as it is "fraud," or just more generally, "deception."
But there’s also not really a clear demand side answer to me to the junk goods market. Many people will opt for the cheapest possible option, even when the price is so low it defies any possibility of the thing being anything other then pure junk. We could regulate it, but people would get angry
I like how when we say someone 'posted on X' it sounds like we're saying they use drugs
How Elon Musk sees himself vs. how we see Elon

As a resident of Walmart world, this is absolutely true. The products available in-store at Walmart or even at like a Dollar General are not in the same (ultra-low) quality category as SHEIN or Temu
Yeah, I think one thing that’s muddling this discourse is Shein/Temu. People are comparing the perceived “bottom tier” of consumer goods over time and concluding stuff is getting worse, but what’s really happening is that we’ve added new, ultra-low tiers.
And while I think even low-tier modern goods stack up reasonably well against their (much more expensive) historic predecessors, Shein/Temu really work on a different model altogether and aren’t comparable at all.

It seems like there has been an explosion of bottom-tier, quasi-disposable goods from sites like Shein in recent years. Stuff that's not just cheap but eye-poppingly cheap. But a KitchenAid today is probably better and cheaper than a KitchenAid 30 years ago.
Depicting Jewish people with horns is a centuries-old, dehumanizing, antisemitic trope. Democratic Gov nominee Phil Weiser is outspoken about his mother’s birth in a Nazi concentration camp, his family members killed in the Holocaust, and the threat posed by antisemitism today.
Proud of @adamgurri.liberalcurrents.com and @liberalcurrents.com for a big get interview like this. I hope to see many more big pols come on LC shows

Very excited for this one. One of our members in the Discord called Lander "the most LC congressperson" and I have to say that I kept thinking of followup questions as I was listening to him, and he kept answering them before I had a chance to ask them. Please give it a watch or listen.

One sign of the rise of male supremacy and the decline in women’s status is the ubiquity of online porn lingo in casual speech.
It was this one, and, yes, I do believe that was an All In first.
Normies probably didn't even know Liz Cheney did campaign stops with her. A good chunk of them don't know who Liz Cheney is.
I think my favorite sequences ran from Barry joining the army through to when he left Prussia. Lots of gorgeous landscapes and interiors. And the colors in all the military scenes really pop.
