One thing I’m DAMNED sure of after serving is women know how push through sustained pain - so much so I had to make them go to sick call if it went on too long - and men had to LEARN how to do that. Women just did it. Take from that what you will.

it is something i hit on a lot, that of the many, many bad reasons all the internet regulation stuff is aimed at kids instead of actual companies, CEOs, the ones actually doing harm - is it's cuz kids don't have any political power and can't do shit about it. they're a 'no cost' target here.
even if you overly generously take class interests and outright malice out of it would still leave you with simple cowardice: fighting the wealthy adults is hard, cracking down on the kids is easy. sucks to be them.

Agreed. The extreme on one side is Elon Musk approvingly implying that we should murder women who don't want children, and on the other, that our health care system should be more like Canada's. One of those sides isn't remotely extremist and it's disgusting to pretend otherwise.

In general people need to expand their understanding of gentrification as not just a free market phenomenon that happens in a vacuum but rather an intentional result of policy that rewards systemic denial of resources to places where people can afford to live & brings violence to those who remain.
