Psychological thrillers are not my automatic go to, but I’m so glad @mypetroxie.bsky.social suggested this one! It really got to me in a way most movies can’t, and I’m pretty sure it altered my brain chemistry 💀 HIGHLY recommend!

Hello friends! This week we were joined by our very special guest @mypetroxie.bsky.social to discuss the 2024 film, I Saw The TV Glow! This psychological thriller is so unique & we had an amazing discussion about the trans experience & the horrors of the closer!

Mitch McConnell's team reached out to me earlier today — through an intermediary, of course — asking me to take this down. I won't. I don't bend the knee. And if they don't like having their name and face attached to it, maybe they should ask themselves why that is.

curating a list of romantasy novels with clear consent so that people can avoid content they personally choose to avoid: this is helpful! labeling the rest of it "ick" which is a sweeping judgment of the writers & readers tbh: this is not helpful (or appropriate for the ALA imho)

"Below are thoroughly-vetted romantasy tales that deliver all of the swoon, with none of the ick" mind your own "modern sensibilities" and don't worry what other people read. I'm shocked this is coming from the American Library Association

This birthright ruling is why I just refuse to tolerate all the Democrat garment rending over NY voters choosing progressive candidates. They are incapable of governing in this moment. The politics of appeasement and centrism gets us to a 5-4 decision on the constitutional question.

I love sharing episodes with y’all, but honestly this is all just an excuse to make Nell video chat with me at least once a week 🤣 None of you really know how funny she actually is but I experience the full force of her facial expressions on the regular and istg that alone has added time to my life

We're also celebrating our 5 year anniversary of when we met, which happened to be 3 years exactly before we launched our podcast. I literally can't even express how much how much I adore @assortedpuzzlepcs.bsky.social and the friendship we've built. This friendship has been life changing 💜

We’d also be EXTREMELY remiss not to point out that today marks our TWO year anniversary as a podcast!! We’re officially in our toddler era! We’ve had so much fun & we couldn’t have made it here without our amazing listeners! Thank you for all of your support & feedback! We appreciate you so much 💜

Visited the Amy Sherald exhibit at the Whitney Museum in NYC. She is a Black woman artist who painted official First Lady portrait of Michelle Obama. This exhibit was supposed to open at Smithsonian— but she canceled it because Smithsonian wanted to censor her portraits of trans women

“For Love, and for Country” (2022) by Amy Sherald. The painting is a reinterpretation of ge iconic V-J Day photo taken in Times Square, which showed a white man and woman kissing. In this reinterpretation, a Black gay male couple recreates the embrace and kiss “Light A Way” (2019) by Amy Sherald“Hangman” (2007) by Amy Sherald“It made sense...mostly in her mind” (2011) by Amy Sherald

Everyone out here yelling about the Knicks, and I’m sorry, but unless you’re about to tell me some basketball players kissed on live tv I do not have the brain capacity to understand why everyone is so excited about this. Happy for y’all though

When my friends worry they haven’t heard from me in a while I like to show them a pic of my phone notifications so they understand it isn’t personal. Truth be told, if I typically reply to you in under 72 hours you’re likely one of my best friends 💀
