Peter Chen@ptrchn1.bsky.social · 3w agoTo the extent there is polling on this, lgbtq+ identity is a very small chunk of the overall reasons why people cut off parents, with abuse, manipulative behavior, and other interpersonal conflict making the bulk of the reasons
Rural white racists used to be a big part of the progressive coalition! They liked social services & labor rights too, ofc. But when other progressives started making them share those benefits w people they hated, they split. Their racism was more important to them than good government, and still is
