ever thought the cowboy Quincey Morris feels extraneous to the plot of DRACULA? in several places Stoker’s sketch outlines indicate “the Texan” was to have a plotline in which he travelled alone to Transylvania as a scout (while Drac terrorized London) This was dropped at the drafting phase.

I am going through Bram Stoker’s earliest notes on DRACULA today - they include a list of the powers and features of the Count (then named “Wampyr” before Stoker stumbled on “Dracula”), many of which are never elucidated in the book…
