Game dev is weird because some days you get more of a feature done before lunch than you did in the entire of last week. Making games continues to be *really hard* most of the time (except today when it was fine).
Indie game dev tip: hang out with your mom. I haven't posted much the past few days because my mom has been visiting. But it is clear that my mom visiting is having a magical effect on the wishlist numbers for my game. A big spike in wishlists with me doing nothing, as SOON as she arrived.
Bluesky thoughts: There’s too much AI slop and for some reason its fixated on Peanuts / Snoopy and political commentary. Word filters are bypassed by posting images that are just text. Is it too much to ask for OCR to scan suspected text images?

VRChat is funny. One end you have the most dedicated programmers making breakthroughs in optimization for shaders and 3D performance. The other end you have people bashing together every kit and prefab they can find for avatars. Doesn't matter if it tanks frames. If it uploads, it's good enough.
Make it exist first... then leave it exactly as it is because quite frankly other tasks take priority sometimes. It's already good enough and nobody will spot that tiny mistake, and the fact that you created something in the first place is already an achievement

I can now recommend #Deadlock to most friends because of the new Street Brawl mode 5-15 minutes of 4v4 PVP. Items are semi-randomized with time to pick 1 of 3 options at a time. No MOBA farming / positioning / macro, just simple third person shooting with a round objective. Go try it!
