I haven’t written here about indoorco2map.com for quite some while. This does not mean nothing happened, but some things take longer than planned. Originally by now I wanted to have a new webpage ready which explain the purpose of project in a proper and understandable way.

Started to go down the rabbit hole of looking at books on ventilation and building regulations from before 1910 and even just starting out, I have a hunch that the droplet dogma caused a century of building+operating most indoor spaces the wrong way, while pre-1910 ventilation was high priority.
I don't really mind whether it is birds or people for the new euro bills but those 2 designs which are portrait-mode bills are evoking very strong opinions in me. What's next after that? Instagram-style square bills?

So about this AI doing some hacking stuff it wasn't supposed to do. I'm less worried about an AI which needs high end hardware to run - sure such thing might cause quite a bit of damage but is containable - I expect the first major incident is going to be a small low-capability model which can 1/2

Uff, ich verstehe ja, dass einige mittlerweile frustriert sind. Aber unter Aufrufe sich politisch gegen Abbau von Sozialleistungen & Rückbau von Transparenz zu engagieren „bringt ja eh nix…“ zu kommentieren macht echt rein gar nichts besser. Es ist vielmehr Teil des Problems.
Arztpraxen gehören schon jetzt mit zu den Orten an denen die Luftqualität am schlechtesten ist und das Infektionsrisiko dadurch höher. Wenn da jetzt alle für ihre AU hinmüssen wird es noch ärger (und kurze AUs sind oft auch Atemwegsbedingt). Die Änderung wird zu mehr, nicht weniger Fehltagen führen

I'm starting to think that the often mocked but at least in Germany widespread held belief that you get sick when being in cooled buildings during heat spells has quite some merit to it.
This Video by @lolagerms.bsky.social gives a fantastic overview of the long history of how and why airborne disease transmission has been (and to a large extend still is being) overlooked and ignored. It's quite long (around 100 minutes) but despite it being a video, it also works a podcast well.

Added 2 new chart types to the analysis page in addition to the boxplots. These convey the Information way better on first glance than boxplots I think. And the more I use the GO IAQS(tandard) from @goaqs.bsky.social, the more I am convinced that 3 categorys are enough to provide an overview

I also added an (by default enabled) option to adjust all measurements to local time - which makes more sense when comparing across continents than UTC

On Tuesday I was at the "High-Level Dialogue on Health Indoor Air," held as a side event of the World Health Assembly (WHA, sort of the WHO’s General Assembly). One of the organisers’ main goals is to prepare a WHO resolution targeting better indoor health and get it passed at the WHA in 2028.

And having a screen promin placed is a great communication tool.
