This is rough but I think it talks about a lot of what is missing from the Cunningham/WNBA discourse. Namely, that trans people are not hypothetical thought experiments. They are real people who are being genocided by our government & any coverage that doesn't center that reality misses the mark.

The best way to have a good experience during a pandemic is to entirely prevent the pandemic (which may itself come with trade-offs). But once that bridge is crossed, it truly is a matter of comparative unpleasantness. (I prefer "temporarily cut off from in-person interaction" to "morgue trucks.")

I get the sense that a lot of people feel on some level that there must be a way to optimize things to the point where there’s a Good Option where no one has to suffer anything and it’s like… No, no, sometimes the best available option that does the least damage still sucks ass, welcome to adulthood

well, Hunters picked up two more runs in the 4th so they’re only down by seven…… but i don’t think this game is gonna be worth staying up late for, alas. hope i’ll be proven wrong!
