"Let's Go" is a perfect album. Here's a kinda okay cover of one of its songs. 😊

One of the things I really liked about this show is that the two leads love each other *so* much and it's never romantic. (Yes, I know there's going to be a ton of fanfic where they're romantically in love, because that's the law of fanfic.)
YES, CORRECT, GOOD JOB TEAM. WATCH MORE FASTER NOW
For your convenience, the Pride and Prejudice live-posting super-thread 📚
So I’ve started Pride and Prejudice, and already I feel bad for Mrs Bennet.
When someone is being robbed and the thief pulls at their necklace and the necklace just comes off cleanly. How weak is that chain? Or how strongly are they pulling? Because neither actor reacts properly. And then (Veronica Mars, I'm looking at you!) the clasp isn't broken??
Can you think of a movie/ tv trope that is a wildly inaccurate representation of what they’re trying to depict? For me, it’s science stuff . They’ll show a scientist and say something like “ he has a ph. D in molecular biology “ and then have him solving physics or organic chemistry problems
On this Shark Awareness Day, it is once again my duty to remind you that sharks need to have at least 5 gill slits. Almost all the shark emojis are wrong. Check your shark toys and gear to see if they are anatomically correct. 😉
New social media, 4 years later, and time for an update of my shark emoji review! Twitter manages to be the WORST, twice this time. @whysharksmatter.bsky.social Please help me spread this again 🦈🦈🦈
Happy Nonbinary People's Day! My name is Stevonnie, my pronouns are they/them, and I play the ukulele and sing under the name of Sunday Comes Afterwards. I have a ton of videos on YouTube (where I also do a livestream every month), and I have an album on Bandcamp and all the other places.

For those who are new to our auctions, here's a last minute guide as to how it works. There are two types of items on our auction site. 1. Bidding auctions 2. Buy-it-nows
Today! 3 PM EDT / Noon PDT! My June livestream! Be there! ...or don't, I don't actually have the power to compel you to attend, and wouldn't want an unwilling audience anyway. I'm not very good at marketing myself. There'll be music! People tend to like that.
If you're at a Pride parade this coming Sunday, then it won't be transphobic if you don't watch my livestream. There are too many things going on at once! In fact, if you're busy doing something nice for any LGBTQIA+ person, you get a pass! Otherwise, I'll see you on YouTube. 😁

BTW, friends: there’s some local stuff going on, and I thought I’d mention it here. https://www.tumblr.com/dduane/819780832834256896/just-a-note-for-the-local-crowd
There was no new Patchwork last week because I was traveling, but WE'RE BACK. Here's the latest puzzle! puzzlesnacks.com/patchwork/
The most dreaded thing at the Bee is the bell, which means it's probably not the best thing to turn into a pendant/keychain. However, it is what I made this year. I continue to be in awe at the spellers at the Bee. They are all so amazing. Congratulations to Shrey Parikh!
I have a plan and a pattern and I'm going to start work on it now. However, for reasons beyond my control, I'm missing the Finals—though it's being recorded and I'll watch after—so the finished product will (hopefully) be up later tonight/tomorrow morning! Good luck to all the remaining spellers!
I have no idea what to make this year. The one idea I have requires more planning and time. So, if you have any ideas for what you'd like to see me make related to bees or spelling/words, etc. then please let me know! If I make it, I'm happy to send you the finished product.
An invitation to everyone (including NFL trophy makers) to tune into the Scripps National Spelling Bee next week! May 27 + 28 🐝
Next week is the Scripps National Spelling Bee! It's one of my favorite times of year and my absolute favorite sports event. I usually make something Bee-related the week of the event and tried to finish before the champion(s) were determined. Here's a thread of things I've made in the past.
NEW PODCAST EPISODE just dropped: "The Making of Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, Twelfth Edition" www.merriam-webster.com/word-matters...

A wholesome story for nerds: On Saturday, I was signing books at a local bookstore for Independent Bookstore Day. The store had a signing-palooza with new authors every hour; toward the end of my hour, a woman came up and asked what my book was about. "Dictionaries," I said, and she lit up. 1/n
Recent activity on my band account reminds me that I'm not sure I've mentioned my song consisting of three linguistics example sentences on this account, the one followed by a lot of linguists. 😅 Please enjoy "Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo."

The thing about being a Nerdfighter is sometimes you're in a meeting with someone from another company and they say "Hold on, I have to sneeze" and you have to stop yourself from saying, "Sneezing isn't normal, I never sneeze."
